about

This is our rendition of a tradional Polish/Ukrainian folk song entitled Hej, Sokoły/Гей, соколи (Hey, Falcons). It is a song about a young Kozak who leaves behind his beloved in Ukraine. You can read more about it here:

August 24th is Independence Day in Ukraine and it also coincidentally marks six months since the beginning of the invasion on February 24th. I wanted to record this song to encourage people to donate to the cause in Ukraine. The track is free to download but if you download it, I encourage you to make a donation. You can make a donation even if you don't wish to download the song. This is a list of charities related to Ukraine that you can donate to:

If you donate, take a screenshot and send it to us. We'd love to know that this recording is generating donations.

I identify most strongly with this part of my ancestry because of all my grandparents, I was the closest with her. So needless to say, this is something important to me.

Blast beats and tremolo picked riffs bring to mind the likes of Windir and Mithotyn while heavier songs dredge jackhammer riffs from the deepest depths of doom, all while soaring keyboard and accordion leads spiral above. ... more
